About The Irish Embassy

The Irish Embassy opened its doors in 2006. The idea for the bar came about when two Irish lads – Darren & Tony met on Lanta. The two of them built it into a great little boozer and an ideal ex-pat ‘local’.

In 2009,Tony moved on and now runs a successful restaurant with his lovely Thai wife May. The same year Jamie arrived on Lanta, and took over Tonys share of the business.

With Darren and Tonys solid groundwork done, Darren and Jamie have proved to work brilliantly together taking the bar to the next level, with Darrens knowledge of running a bar, his dry humour and ten years on Ko Lanta. Jamie with no bar experience, but good people skills and a love of fun, and a passion for music, which ensures the music in The Irish is never just background noise, and often a talking point.

We pride ourselves on doing the simple things well – Good Food – Good Music – Good Atmosphere.

With hard work and great staff, we are now one of Lantas longest established and most popular bars…helped by Ko Lanta becoming more and more popular as a tourist destination.

So if you’re looking for a home from home while you’re away, look no further than The Irish…whatever you’re missing we have it…All sports, pub food, ciders, ales and stouts and the best music on the island.

We’ve recently expanded and knocked through into next door..

Keeping the same homely feel to the existing bar…we have created a ‘Public Bar’ next door..including a pool table and dartboard!

Also more big screens so you can enjoy any sporting event at ‘The home of sport on Lanta’!!

We look forward to welcome you!

Slainte!
